BC SPCA seeks public input

Closing today, the BC SPCA's public input survey seeks to discover the pressing animal issues facing B.C. communities as it begins a strategic planning process to guide its programs and services from 2014  to 2018.

Craig Daniell, CEO for the BC SPCA said the overwhelming number of animal issues in the province creates a challenge for the SPCA as it decides how best to use its resources to create more humane communities.

"It is very important that we hear from our supporters, our staff and volunteers, community leaders, veterinarians and members of the public about their priorities for animals in our province," said Daniell.

This survey is a larger scale example of the BC SPCA's interest in public opinion. Last fall, the organization hosted a community-wide forum in Maple Ridge to discuss the cat overpopulation issues in the area. Let's Talk About Cats is one of eight initiatives nominated to address industry stakeholders during the 2013 Summit for Urban Animal Strategies Showcase Series in October.
