Summit 2013 Retailer Nominees

Three finalists vie for the Urban Animal Industry's highest award in the category of Retailer:
  1. AJ Pets and Things (Lisa Badach) for their work with the city of Vernon on pet legislation, providing space for community members to re-home pets–birds/reptiles/chinchillas, and for regular community education events.
  2. PetValu Store, Clayton Park (Allyson Smith) for their willingness to help rescue groups with adoptions and fundraising and for adopting out kittens in her store from rescue groups and the local SPCA.
  3. Planet Paws Pet Essentials (Rodney Habib) for raising funds through store initiatives and hosting community events and for Recognition by Nova Scotia Legislature for pet nutrition radio show and blog.
The Summit for Retailer recognizes a retailer of pet products and services who has developed a reputation and frequent connection to pet families which has enhanced the lives of pets and people in the community (ies) they serve.

The 2013 Summit for Sheltering will be presented during the Awards Gala on Friday, 18 October 2013. This event is open to the public.
