Why is Judi Cannon Smiling??

Puppies! Well that's only part of the story.

The Ontario SPCA, along with support from Beat the Heat Kenora, the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society, the North Bay & District Humane Society and Cargo North Airline, were invited by a Whitefish Bay First Nations Community in Northern Ontario to assist in the capture and transfer of over 70 homeless dogs.

Displaying Close to 40 puppies and over 35 adult dogs were transferred to the Thunder Bay area where they were triaged and flown to southern Ontario.

The dogs were transported to the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC), where six Ontario SPCA Communities were awaiting their arrival. The dogs are now being cared for across the province by various Ontario SPCA Communities and are being prepared for adoption.

This inaugural animal transfer event was an amazing success and was only made possible through the commitment of so many organizations collaborating together to work as partners.

"Thank you to all involved in making this dream a reality and laying the way to inroads into the north," said Judy Decicco, Chair, Board of Directors, Thunder Bay & District Humane Society.

Anything that involves finding a better home for animals brings out the 'happy' in Judi Cannon. Bravo girl!
