WHAT IS AN URBAN ANIMAL

Urban animals are those who live in modern urban municipalities as well as those who serve them. This cohort of clients, vendors, service providers and the network that connects them is called an 'ecosystem'.

A majority of the consumers around the globe now live in an urban setting. They have basic needs and some not so basic appetites. They acquire food, goods and services. They are tax payers and voters. They determine by their preferences who will succeed in the economy and who will succeed in politics. They are the influencers of modern thought and developing ideas. They join with service providers, vendors and their peers to form ecosystems around applications and platforms that now cross, penetrate or circumnavigate many of the tribal customs, beliefs, borders and jurisdictional fences that previously kept people apart.

As the process of urbanization continues around the globe, the vast majority of consumers will live in these urban municipalities (cities). Some economists, social and political scientists believe the largest urban centres will even overtake countries in terms of power and influence. Whatever the outcome, we can already see the Urban Animal is something to be understood, to be valued and to have a relationship with.

Urban animals are interested in innovation, leadership, resources for urban living, digital applications, new paradigms, new media and research that informs their lifestyle.

InfoStream intends to be for the urban animal, the information stream, a reference point and a channel for those who serve them. A place where the stories they need are told. A place for information they can trust and rely upon.
